Originally from South London, living in Brighton for the last 30 years.

What do you like most about Brighton?

I moved to Brighton in 1992 to open my jewelry store. I knew that Brighton was very bohemian and thought it would be a great place to start selling my designs.

What’s your backstory?

When I was 13 my Dad took me to a jewelry shop and I saw a skull ring. I was amazed that somebody had actually made this and wanted to learn to do it myself.

At 18 I started a jewelry apprenticeship. Originally I was just fixing jewellery around South London. As I was driving around picking up pieces to fix, I realized how boring and similar everyone's jewellery looked.

This sparked my passion for making unique designs that you can't find in high street shops.

What are your income streams?

I sell out of my store in Brighton; I also sell a lot of jewelry online through my website.

How have you attracted new customers?

Originally back in the early 2000's it was all word of mouth and print magazines.

Now we are seeing all of our growth through social media - specifically telling my story to new customers.

What is your favorite product?

I love the Carved ring. I designed it 28 years ago, just after opening my shop. It is special to me as it took a few years for it to really take off, and now it is a bestseller, almost 30 years later.
