What is your name, where are you from?
Cait Fitzpatrick. I grew up in Chicago, but live in Norwalk, Connecticut
What do you like most about Norwalk?
My favorite part about where I live is the beach! We live about a mile from the water and enjoy going there all year round.
What’s your backstory?
I started making soap a few years ago and fell in love with the process. It is creative, it is fun, and every bar turns out slightly different. I love experimenting with different shapes, color combinations, and scents.
What are your income streams?
An online store.
How have you grown the business?
Word of mouth. When a customer receives their order and shares a photo on their own social media channels, it grows awareness of the brand.
What is your favorite product?
I love creating holiday or themed soaps. My absolute favorite is the conversation hearts for Valentine’s Day. The perfect amount of nostalgia and novelty, but also something that people can truly use.
If you could go back, would you do anything differently?
I would have started making soap sooner!
What are your goals?
I would love to find more partners to do collaborations.
Do you have a favorite book?
I read The $100 Startup after leaving my corporate job in 2017. It simplified the process of starting a business and I always recommend it to people.
